The forces acting on various cams when a tricot knitting machine is running are measured by an electronic apparatus, and the results are as follows : <BR>1) The force acting on needle cams becomes the largest when knok-over takes place. This force is greter with lower speed.<BR>2) The force acting on presser cam is the largest when the pressers push the needles. This force is almost independent of the speed.<BR>3) The profiles of positive cams are not well balanced, and a large variation of force occus even at low speed due to the uneven contact between cams and their followers.
