To prevent the SBR compounds with thiourea derivatives from scorching, the compounds with scorch retarders, low zinc oxide compounds, sulfur-donor compounds and low sulfur compounds were tested for the Mooney scorch time. The best prevention method from scorching of the SBR compounds with thiourea derivatives was attained by using a low sulfur and high accelerator system. A suitable accelerator was found to be N-oxydiethylene-2-benzothiazole sulfenamide. By this method the Mooney scorch time of the SBR compounds was delayed effectively, and the vulcanizates indicated excellent tensile properties. The favorable features of these compounds are that these vulcanizates are not stained and that their ozone resistances are superior to those of the vulcanizates of the low sulfur and high accelerator compounds with 6-ethoxy-2, 2, 4-trimethyl-1, 2-dihydroquinoline.
