A case of pedunculated biliary cystadenoma arising from the inferior surface of the liver with a marked elevation of serum antigen CA19-9.

A 40-year-old male of cystadenoma with an pedunculated growth pattern fram the inferior surface of the liver was presented. The patient was admitted to San-in-Rosal Hospital with chief complaints of abdominal full sensation and a palpated epigastric mass. Imaging modalities showed polycystic liver tumor arising in the right lobe of the liver. Serum antigen of CA19-9, CEA and DUPAN-II were also increased in the cystic fluids. The resected specimen was 6×15×16cm in size and 2, 150g in weight. Histologically, the cyst was arranged in billiary-type epithelium and immunahistochemical studies disclosed positive staining in CA19-9 and CEA. This case suggests that benign cystadenoma is contributed to a markedly elevation of serum CA19-9.
