Effects of Enprostil, Prostaglandin E2 Analogue, on Liver Triacylglycerol Concentration in Mice Treated with or without Carbon Tetrachloride

It has been reported that 16, 16-dimethyl prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) prevents against fat accumulation in livers of rats challenged with carbon tetrachloride (CCl4). Our preliminalry studies have indicated that enprostil, PGE2 analogue, inhibited the liver triacylglycerol (TG) concentration in the CCl4 non-challenged mice, suggesting that enprostil. would have some effects on lipid metabolism other than the cytoprotection in the liver.
