The authors measured the diurnal and seasonal changes of photosynthetic rate of tea plant with the apparatus described on the previous report. The . results obtained were as follows.<BR>1. The rate of carbon assimilation increased with the increase of light intensity, but it reached its maximum at about 8-10 A. M. showing the light saturation. In midday it remained nearly constant, and it decreased after 3-4 P. M. with the decrease of light intensity. "Midday depression" was often observed in summer and autumn, but the cause of this phenomenon could not be detected.<BR>2. The light saturation point was seemed to be about 0.5 cal./ min. cm2. in summer and autumn, but it somewhat decreased in winter. The compensation point was seemed to be about 0.03 cal. /min. cm2.<BR>3. Concerning the relation between the assimilation and the temperature, when the light intensity was above 0.4 cal./min. cm2, the carbon assimilation rate was seemed to somewhat decrease with the rise of temperature.<BR>4. The amount of carbon assimilation per day decreased remarkably in winter. It was thought that chlorophyll content and several other factors might have some effect on it.
