The effect of the a-naphthaleneacetic acid treatment on the tea stem cuttings was studied using the same 5 varieties as that of the former report.<BR>Generally speaking, the increase of root formation by the hormone treatment correlated with the starch content, and the varieties which had higher content of starch showed better root formation than that of the lower one.
