In small and medium enterprises that have not fully introduced production management systems, business achievements may depend on the knowledge, skills, or habits of a specific individual. When the preparation of documents and the management of business data are prepared in longhand or when data is decentralized, it takes time to accumulate such records. If a production management system is introduced into small and medium enterprises, stock reduction becomes possible because such a system can manage stock with high accuracy, reducing individual workloads as the time required for scheduling and document preparation falls. This research seeks to provide useful information for small and medium enterprises that are considering production management systems. In this article, the production management system jointly developed with the hex-head bolt manufacturer of JIS standard is described and the improvement in operating efficiency by its introduction is quantitatively detailed.
