Six lupane-type triterpenes were isolated from the cork of Vitis vinifera "Kyohou" (Vitaceae). Their structures were characterized as lupenone, lupeol, 3β-hydroxy-30-norlupan-20-one, betulin, 3β,28-dihydroxy-30-norlupan-20-one and 3β,29-dihydroxy-30-norlupan-20-one by physical and chemical methods. This is the first report that discusses isolation of 3β,29-dihydroxy-30-norlupan-20-one from natural sources.
