Problem Based Learning (PBL) adoption in universities is changing how students learn. Evaluations of such innovative courses are important for continuous curricula development. A questionnaire was used to collect data in a PBL course in the department of Architecture in Mie University. The results showed that students valued PBL pedagogy and group work as a new learning method. Students see traditional classrooms to be outdated and inappropriate; they prefer IT enriched environments with flexible furniture. Students' expectations must be considered to create effective learning environments.
