4-7-4 Combined pyrolysis and catalytic reforming of waste plastic for the polygeneration of solid, gaseous and liquid fuels

The performance of a two-stage combined pyrolysis and catalytic reforming system used for the recycling of waste plastic is reported. In this paper, PE granules are pyrolyzed in a fix-bed pyzolyzer and then the pyrolysates evolved are reformed over silica-alumina (SA) catalyst in the reformer. Particular attention was paid to investigate the effects of pyrolysis temperature, reforming temperature and WHSV on the product distribution. The yields of gas, liquids employed are presented, as well as the composition of each fraction.
