A secoiridoid glycoside, 10-cinnamoyloxyoleoside was isolated for the first time as free dicarboxylic acid with four known compounds, 10-cinnamoyloxyoleoside 7-methyl ester, byzantionoside B, 3-oxo-α-ionol β-D-glucopyranoside, and methyl chlorogenate from the leaves of Helwingia japonica. Their structures were elucidated mainly by spectroscopic methods.
