• I presented the outline of the protagonist,Hosokawa Gracia's life and the author,Hermann Heuvers in Part 1,published inthe last year's academic journal (No. 33).In Part 2 in this issue,I would like to summarize the structure of the drama and its motif at first,and after introducingthe story and its development,I would seek after the conversion drama of Hosokawa Gracia.That is,in Act 1,the event during the lady's confinement in Mitono and her gallant and noble attitude to death withoutfear:Visiting the church and encountering Christians at Shinyashiki in Osaka in Act 2:I would like to focus on the joy of her being baptized in Act 3 and the lady's stunning end with her act and speech in Act 4.It could be definitely said the lady's baptized name, Gracia (the Grace of God) was the symbol of her way of life.
