The use of terrestrial networks to combine plural optical ground stations is considered to increase the rate of time to perform satellite-ground laser communications. The theoretical estimation of the rate of time is carried out with selecting several candidate locations for the ground stations, where the clear sky is expected to be found among at least one of those locations. For the computation, the cloud distribution images taken by the Meteorological Satellite are used. The temporal correlations of the cloud distribution between the site of NICT's ground station (Tokyo) and the other selected locations are calculated. The results show an effectiveness of this approach to select locations for optical ground stations as well as the potential of the use of the multiple sites to increases the chances to perform satellite-ground laser communications.
