• The significance related to the development of the port in SENDAI BAY has been transfered successively from ports of ISHINOMAKI→ARAHAMA→KOBUCHI→SABUSAWA→ISHIHAMA→NOBIRU→KATSUGIGAURA→OGINOHAMA→MOTOAMI→HANABUCHI→SHIOGAMA→ during pre-capitalistic period. This fact means that the commercial port develop on the resultant in cooporation with natural, technical and political-economical resources. Concerning with politics as well as natural enviroment, the Location (Standort) of port in SENDAI BAY has been determined always by the processes in which the coastral port were formed as "receptable port". However, the formation of modern port were not carried out in TOHOKU DISTRICT in past time, by reason of the undevelopment of capital accumulation. The present author deem it agreat honor, if this paper shoud provide helpful to the geographical consideration of the formation of commercial port in modern Japan.
