We propose that the dual-layered soft magnetic underlayer consists of two layers having different magnetic domains. The lower layer is the striped domain layer, and the upper one is the small H_c layer without the striped magnetic domain. Magnetic properties of each layer can be easily controlled by changing the rotation speed of the disk in the electroless deposition. The perpendicular direction for the leakage magnetic flux corresponding to the striped domain was changed to the in-plane by the additional of the upper layer with low H_c, i.e., the upper layer plays the role of the return path layer. By the results of the noise measurement, the dual-layered SUL has a high possibility of suppressing both spike noise and DC-noise at the same time.
