The immature adults of Toxocara canis, which were acquired prenatally, inhabiting in two litters 10 and 11.5 days old, when starved for 8 and 10 days, respectively, were not eliminated as were those in the starved hosts, but showed the marked inhibited growth as compared with the latters. On the contrary, the mature adults, composed mostly of the prenatally acquired, inhabiting in four litters 34 to 58 days old, were eliminated from both the starved and unstarved hosts, though a little less appeared to be eliminated from the latters, and the inhibited growth by starvation was not obvious. These differences are discussed in relation to physiology.
