An Analysis of Preoperative Risk Factors in Hemodialysis Patients Due to Chronic Renal Failure

We analized the correlation between preoperative risk factors and mortality ratio in 51 chronic renal failure patients on hemodialysis. In this paper, the conclusions are following : 1) The preoperative risk factors were emergency surgery, shock, bleeding, liver dysfunction and malnutrition. There were correlations between these risk factors and the mortality ratio. 2) We successfully performed esophagectomy on thoracic esophageal cancer patients, pancreatoduodenectomy on a bile duct cancer patient and hepatectomy on a malignant liver tumor without serious complications. 3) The mortality ratio was 0% in cases with 0〜4 risk factors, 14.3% in 5 risk factors, 30.0% in 6 risk factors and 60.0% in 7 risk factors. Statistical analysis was performed using Kaplan Meier to determine the significance. A p value< 0.05 was considered significant.
