Case of an Unclassified Hepatic Sarcoma with Multilocular Cystic Change

We report a rare unclassified hepatic sarcoma with multilocular cystic change of 14x14x9cm in size that developed in the liver of an 81-year-old woman with a past history of a uterine leiomyoma, gastric cancer, lung cancer, unclassified primary sarcoma of the liver, and thyroid tumor at the ages of 50, 60, 68, 68 and 79 years, respectively. The sarcoma was composed of spindle-shaped or polygonal cells arranged in a fascicular or haphazard manner. In some areas of the sarcoma, epithelioid cells formed cords and solid nests. The sarcoma was assumed to be a recurrence of the hepatic sarcoma found at the age of 68 years because of the histological similarity, although the possibility of a second primary sarcoma of the liver could not be excluded.
