Voltage is applied in the surface direction of Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) heterofilms consisting of arachidic acid (C_<20>, Y type, nonpolar) LB film and TCNQ-derivative (2-pentadecyl-7, 7', 8, 8' -tetracyanoquinodimethane, C_<15>・TCNQ, Z type, polar) or protoporphyrin IX dimethl ester (PPDM, Z type, polar) LB film, and the voltage drop in the heterofilm is measured. As a result, a potential well is generated in the heterofilm of [nonpolay LB film/polar LB film], but no potential well is observed in the heterofilm of [polar LB film/nonpolar LB film] where the polar and the nonpolar LB films are deposited in reverse order of the former heterofilm.
