A simple magnetization model for laminated iron cores is proposed. It assumes that a surface layer δ_0 is magnetized before the saturated fornt propagates into the lamination. Fairly good agreements between the model and the experiment are achieved. Using this model, relations between the voltage and the current through a saturable reactor are derived.
