95 K NdBCO Single Crystal Grown in Air by Controlling Liquid Compositiorn

Using the crystal pulling method, we achieved high supercorudtucting transition temperattures (Tc) of Nd_<1+x>Ba_<2-x>Cu_3O_<6+δ> (NdBC0) single crystals in air. By corntrolling the liquid composition of the ratio of Ba to Cu (Ba/ Cu) at approximately 0.80, the NdBC0 crystal displays higlt T_c of about 95 K with a sharp transition width ΔT of less than 0.5 K. Tlae high Ba/ Cu in the liqxuid leads to the low amount of stubstitution of Ndfor Ba, and conseqtnently results in high supercondtucting properties. Tlais finfing stuggests that the Ba/Cu in the liquid is a very important processing parameter for the NdBCO system.
