Temperature Dependence of Lattice Parameters of YBa_2Cu_3O_x Superconductor at Low Temperature

The temperature dependence of lattice parameters of YBa_2Cu_3O_x (x=6.95) was studied by X-ray diffraction in the range of 300-20 K. All three lattice parameters decreased linearly with decreasing temperature in the range of 300-130 K, and anisotropies in the thermal expansion coefficients were observed. The expansion coefficients along the a, b and c axes were 5.2×10^<-6>, 9.2×10^<-6> and 1.57×10^<-5>(K^<-1>), respectively. There was only a slight difference in their temperature dependencies in the region below 130 K, and lattice parameters a and b were nearly constant below the superconducting transition temperature.
