The crystal structure and microwave dielectric properties of the (1-x)La(Zn_<1/2>Ti_<1/2>)O_<3-x>SrTiO_3 system were investigated using X-ray powder diffraction and a network analyzer. The crystal structure of the solid solution approached that of a cubic perovskite with an increasing amount of SrTiO_3. B-site cation ordering, in-phase tilting, and anti-phase tilting of oxygen octahedra disappeared at x = 0.4, 0.6, and 0.9, respectively. The relative permittivity (ε_r) and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (〓_f) of the solid solutions showed a nonlinear variation with no singularity. In particular, ε_r varied according to the mixture rule, 1/ε_<total>=υ_1/ε_1+υ_2/ε_2. This anomalous behavior was attributed to the structural characteristics of the system. The variation in 〓_f of the system is discussed in conjunction with other researchers' works.
