Ferroelectric properties for the copolymers of acrylonitrile and allylcyanide were investigated in a temperature range of 20℃ to 180℃. The copolymers containing a certain fraction (35 mol%) of allylcyanide showed a dielectric anomaly with the peak due to the structural change of paracystal around 120℃, which is above the glass transition temperature (90℃). A sharper X-ray diffraction than that of paracrystal of polyacrylonitrile was observed by annealing. Typical electric displacement (D)-electric field (E) hysteresis in ferroelectrics was observed in the copolymer. The remanent polarization and the coercive field at 105℃ were abut 700 mC/m^2 and 25-30 MV/m, respectively.
