The slip traces which appear in phosphor bronze strips with tin content ranging from 4.5% to 8% were studied, the cold reduction (in thickness) ranging from 5 % to 97%. The slip traces appearing in the strips which were given the reductiona heavier than 70% were studied for the first time in the present work and were found to be wavy and run approximately perpendicular to the rolling direction. The wavy slip traces were found to be especially long in the strips thatwere given extremely heavy (97%) cold reduction, and were interpreted to be related with rolling texture formation. In addition to the slip traces described above, few traces were found to be nearly straight and run approximately parallel to the direction of rolling.
