The proton and carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance signals of cytochalasin E (1) were assigned with the aid of ^1H-^1H, ^1H-^<13>C and ^1H-^<13>C long-range chemical shift correlation spectroscopy spectra, and the structure of the decomposition product (2) generated under neutral conditions was determined.
