In this paper are given some notes on the provisioning habits of four species of hunting wasps observed in several districts of Southeast Asia by the writers. The data are summarized as follows : (1) A female of Eumenes (Delta) flavopictus continentalis Zimmermann was observed transporting on the wing a 27mm long larva of Acontiinae (Noctuidae) (Fig. 1, A) at Ubol on Dec. 20, 1962, by Nakao. The prey found in several nests of E. flavopictus formosanus Zimm. at Kuaru of Formosa in May of 1937, by Iwata were 21mm long larvae of two species of Catocalinae (Noctuidae) (Fig. 1, B and C), 21-25mm long larvae of two species of Geometrinae (Geometridae) (Fig. 1, D and E) and a 35mm long larva of Geometridae (Fig. 1, F), all identified kindly by Dr. Y. Yamamoto. (2) Two females of Sceliphron javanum Lepeletier were observed nesting at Ubol and Chantaburi in December of 1962 by Nakao. The nest at Ubol contained five cells and each cell was provisioned with 6-9 prey as shown in the table of the text. The prey were Araneus sp., nearly related to A. ventricosus L. Koch (Fig. 2), A. dehaanii Doleschall and Caerostris paradoxa Doleschall, all belonging to Argiopidae, according to identification by Dr. T. Yaginuma. (3) A female of Tachypompilus analis Fabricius was found at Chantaburi in the act of carrying a small female of Heteropoda venatoria Linnaeus (12mm long) on Jan. 18, 1963, by Nakao. On Aug. 10, 1963, he also observed another female of the same spider wasp carrying a large-sized female of the same domestic spider (26mm long) at Shinmura, Amami-Oshima. (4) A nest of an unknown Sphecid wasp, probably of the genus Tachysphex, was dug out from the sandy ground 7cm deep under the surface by the River Mekong at Nong Kai near Vientiane of Laos on Dec. 25, 1962, by Nakao. The sandy area was visited also by many females of a Bombyliid hunter, Bembix borrei thaiana Tsuneki. In the nest cell only two small nymphs (17mm long) of an unknown Mantid (Fig. 3) were found but no wasp egg on them.
