In this paper, the differences of population density among eight injurious insects and mite in various parts of a citrus tree were analysed. The citrus tree was divided into ten parts for the purpose of observation : north, south, east and west sides ; upper, inner and lower parts ; young branch, underside and upper surface of a leaf. Countings of the number of pest individuals were made on five young branches per part in each of 12 parts of upper, inner and lower parts in four directions. Results were summarized in Table 1, and the result of each species was as follows. Not a significant difference of the population density of Unaspis yanonensis on a citrus tree was found among the four sides of north, south, east and west, even in the season of heavy occurrence. But, the population density of this insect was found to be high in the upper part compared with those of the inner and lower parts. As shown in Figs. 18 and 19, higher population density was found on the underside of a leaf than the upper surface of a leaf or young branches. Population density of Panonychus citri on a citrus tree showed no obvious difference between the four directions during the season of high density, but in the season of low density it was found that high density was observed in the south side. The mite population density was also found higher in the upper part and on the upper surface of a leaf than the other parts. Population of Pseudococcus citriculus was found high in the east side, inner part and the underside of a leaf. Population density of Aleurotuberculatus aucubae on a tree was found high in the south side and on the underside of a leaf. In the period from spring to summer it was shown that large numbers were found in the inner part, but in the period from autumn to winter the reverse condition was observed. The distribution of Dialeurodes citri was similar to that of Aleurotuberculatus aucubae. But, among the four directions, large numbers were found in the west side. Population density of three Aphids on a tree was high on the upper part, and the same relation was observed in the case of the citrus leaf miner. From these spacial distribution patterns of several species of pests on a tree it seems that each of the component species has not a relation of close interaction to any of the other ones.
