(1) In 2 cases of alopecia areata having a strong psychological factor, EMG-BFT using MYOTRAC was done daily in the form of EMG-BFT being used concurrently with conventional pharmacothrapy and supportive psychotherapy. A relatively smooth clinical course and improvement in symptoms were observed. (2) Generally, the universal type(Case 2) is said to have a strong refractory trend. In the case presented, however, the period of time taken from inception of EMG-BFT to manifestation of the growth of hair was shorter than in the multiple type(Case 1). (3) As to alopecia areata with the stress factor being dominant, a combinational use of EMG-BFT is presumed to be effective. We plan to conduct thorough studies by increasing the number of cases.
