No definite genetic transmission could be established in subjects with sera with low level of CH_<50> which had been found in an area of Tokyo as previously described in Report 1. Both incidence and inheritance of the cases with sera with decreased hemolytic complement titer were investigated in a rural area in comparison with those observed in Tokyo, because such investigation would be more difiicult in an urban area. There were 28 subjects with less than 20 CH_<50> units /ml in serum out of 6812 subjects by a mass survey at a acertin rural town located in Shima peninsula of Miye prefecture. Although low level of CH_<50> was noticed in large number of healthy subjects, no definite predigee of low CH_<50> titer coudl be also found in this investigation. Among parts of this town, however, the incidence of serum having markedly decreased complement activity varied from 2.24 to zero percent. The result suggested that these sera would not be transmitted as an autosomal dominant characteristic but as a recessive one. Furthermore, to which components low level of complement activity was attributed in these sera was studied by a convenient method. It was noticed that there would exist various sera deficient in every one of four steps, namely C1, C4.2, C3 or C5-9.
