Mixing-Type Quadrupolar Order on Γ_7-Doublet in TmTe

Detailed experimental results on TmTe have been analyzed critically and the following novel characteristics have been revealed. The crystal field levels are different from the Γ_8 ground state proposed before but have the sequence of Γ_7, Γ_8 and Γ_6 with the Γ_7ground state, and a novel mixing-type quadrupolar order is developed at 2 K on the Γ_7 doublet with a weak intensity, followed by a strong antiferromagnetic order at 0.5K. All the anomalous properties are explained consistently.
