We apply the homomorphic cluster coherent potential approximation (HCPA)to systems with off-diagonal disorder, and show that average Green's functionsbased on this approximation are analytic. On the other hand, the ordinary clusterCCPA for off-diagonal randomness yields nonanalytic solutions. In order tounderstand the problem of analyticity, we examine the fundamental features ofnonanalytic solutions. The breakdown of analyticity is related to the existenceof off-real axis branch points on the complex energy plane, the latter in turnbeing equivalent to the appearance of singularities in some implicit functionscontaining the average Green's functions.
