Non-Ergodicity and Non-Gaussianity in Vitrification Process

Vitrification is a gradual solidification process of supercooled liquids, during which atomic dynamics changes from diffusive motion to localized vibration. I define two characteristic temperatures at which two characteristic times defined by the mean and the fluctuation of the waiting time distribution diverges. I also define the main relaxation time from the peak of the generalized susceptibility which diverges at the point where the normalization of the waiting time distribution becomes impossible. I show that the non-Gaussian parameter behaves qualitatively differently in the temperature regions distinguished by these characteristic temperatures.
