We have studied the beJuavior of second-order nonlinear stusceptibility y"' of an infiraite-layersupercondtuctor (Sr0.7Cag.3)0.g5Ctt0z . to search for the clairal-glass state predicted by Kaxva-rnura f'or a<7-waxze cerazaaic. The linear and notaliraear strsceptibilities are cotaaposed of the mea-stzred harunonic strsceptibilities up to the sever'rth-order harrmonics. The second-order noraJinesrrstrsceptibility y"' sluoxvs a negatixxe peak btrt oscillates as a ftunction of teaaaperattrre ruear T..TJais is not couasisteuat xvitla the prediction based otu a chiral-glass transition. Tlae Bean critical-state tauodel explains the observed X"' behavior xvell. It is raecessary to avoid the ef['ect of vortexpinning to find a chiral-glass transition.
