Magnetic Field Penetration into La_<1.85>Sr_<0.15>CuO_4 : Electrical Properties of Condensed Matter

We examiner the temperature dependence of the magnetic field penetration depth λ of La_<1.85>Sr_<0.15>CuO_4 through variations of the ac susceptibility. The temperature dependence of λ cannot be understood by the conventional BCS theory. The analysis of the data indicates that the T^2 dependence of λ(T)-λ(0) is plausible at lower temperatures. This gives evidence of point nodes in the energy gap on the Fermi surface in this compound.
