Fractal Structure and Pattern in Two-Species Growth Model : A Generalized Directed Percolation

A competing two??s'pecies growth model, which is a generalized directed percola-tion, is presented to sttady the fractal structure of a self-affine pattern at the phase Iran-sition point. The growth model is described in terms of a stochastic celltularautomaton. The morphology and the phase transition are investigated by using corn-puter simulation. The phase diagram and the composition ratio in the steady state arefound. The fractal structures of self-affine patterns along t1?e phase transition line areinvestigated. Its fractal dimension d.=1.48'fO.02 is found on the transition line.Also, near a singtmlar point, tlte crossover fronx the Sierpinski gasket to thehomogeneous mixture: is found.
