Valence-Band Structure of NaCl along the Δ-Direction Determined by Angle-Resolved Photoemission

By use of synchrotron radiation of 40<hv< 110 eV, angle-resolved photoemis-sion spectroscopy (ARPES) is applied to Nail single-crystals to investigatethe electronic structure of the valence band. It is recognized that the resultsobtained can be well understood by the direct-transition model, and the ARPESis found very useful in determination of the energy vs momentum dispersion rela-tion. The valence band dispersion of Nail is determined along the d-direction(T-X).
