X-Ray Spectra from H-,He-and Li-Like Iron Ions in a Vacuum Spark Plasma

All the X-ray lines associated with K-shell from an iron plasma have beenobserved. Transition wavelengths of the He-like resonance series lines up to1s6p-Is' have been determined for the first time. The structures of Kot He-likeand K7 Li-like satellites are described in detail. A highly resolved Kct spectrumof FeXXIV and FeXXV has been observed and the plasma parameters were defer-mined from the intensity ratios of intercombination line y, dielectronic satellitej and satellite q due to inner-shell excitation to resonance line w and the linebroadening of w, i.e., w.:IQ" cm ', T.z2.2 keV, the ionization temperature7',:0.8 keV and T,=54 key. These parameters show that the plasma is mainlyunder the transient ionizing condition. Comparison between the observed andcalculated intensity ratios among the He-like resonance series lines in C -R modelgives an evident proof for the ionizing plasma.
