ESR Study of Uniaxial Stress Effect on the Cubic K_2PbCu (NO_2)_6

y-value of Cu" has been observed as a function of uniaxial stress parallel tothe [001] axis. Its shift d,(=(3.0.J.0.5) x 10-'/Kg/crrt' is proportional to the latticecompression and reflects a tetragonal order. The change in line width in eachphase suggests the existence of a dynamical motion of Cu(NO.)5 coupled withJahn Teller mode which averages an incommensurate tetragonal local order.
