The presence of a monochromatic ton acoustic wave with a finite amplitude ina plasma leads to a reduction of the electrical conductivity o. This effect is re-examined on the basis of a sinnplified Landau collision term employed by Zakharovand Karpman (1962) and the correct result is o=ogf,1 -0.283(e$g/7'.)""}. Hereo., p. and T. are the classical conductivity, the amplitude of the wave and theelectron temperature, respectively.
