Propagation characteristics of nonlocal drift waves in a cylindrical plasma are investigated on the basis of two-fluid model composed of cold ions and warm electrons. An equation is derived for describing the radial behavior of the wave amplitude. The dispersion relation is obtained from solutions of an eigenvalue problem, and the latter is proved to have a unique solution if the radial density is moderate and the mode numbers are prescribed. The eigenvalue problem is solved numerically for a density profile of a Gaussian type, for which the drift frequency ω_* can be defined unambiguously. It is found that the dispersion relation obtained in the conventional slab approximation is a good approximation to the one of a cylindrical plasma, provided that the drift frequency ω_* is much smaller than the ion cyclotron frequency.
