Resonant Absorption of Low Frequency Electrostatic Wave Energy in a Plasma Contained in an Axially Nonuniform Magnetic Field

Resonant power absorption of electrostatic ion cyclotron wave energy in a nonuniform magnetic field is calculated following Kuckes' model. The calculation explains the experimental evidence of the large suppression effect on the line cusp loss by the resonant absorption of this wave.
