Brillouin scattering sr>ectra of r>erovskite-tvr>e crystal CsPbCI, have t:>eenmeasured above its cubic-tetraxonal r>hase transition temr>erature, T.=47'C.The three elastic constants co 1, cs 2 and c++ were determined in a wide temperaturerange. The result agrees ctuite well with that of the r>revious ultrasonic measure-ment. This fact shows that there is no detectable elastic dispersion between to7Hz and 10" Hz. An analysis using a single relaxation time model shows that theelastuc relaxatuon t101C IS shorter than IXIO-"sec at T =T.-F3'C. The soft-mode model rather than the order-disorder one seems to be more appropriate toa description of the cubic-tetragonal phase transition in this crystal.
