We investigate tlte dynatnics of the collision of narrow plasrna clouds, whose transverse diune?a-sion is on the order of the electron skin depth. A 2D3V (two dimensions iua space a?ad threedimensions in velocity space) particle-in-cell (PIC) collisionless relativistic code is trsed to showthe generation of a qtmasi-static tmagnetic field during the collision of narroxv plasuaaa clotrds bothin electron-ton and electron-positron (pair) plasuuaas. The localized strong magnetic fltrxes restrltin the generation of the charge separation witla cozauplicated strttctures, xvhich tray be sotrrcesof electronaagnetic as w'ell as Langrnuir xvaves. We also present one application of this process,which occttrs during coalescence of magnetic islands in a ctrrrent sheet of pair plasmas.
