A sizaaple theoretical approach is given to sttrdy XAFS-like spectra (extetaded X-ray eztaissionfirae strtrcttrre, EXEFS) obserxzed in X-ray fltrorescence spectra based on one-step qttantutaa 111(lll?-claanical forraattla derived by Altnbladla and Hedin. Electronic relaxation azad shake-off processesare crtrcial to explaira the spectral feattrres. Here the "shake-off" processes are different frotnthose fotund in the typical XPS and XAFS spectra; the "shake-off" electrons are ejected duringtl'xe fltmorescence etaaission processes. Fornaaal EXEFS forrnttlas derived laere are tlae sazuae as tlaeustmally trsed XAFS f'orraatrla, Hoxvever, xve shotrld careftrlly trse the johase sl'rif'ts by taking ac-cotrnt of the relaxation effects due to additional core laole prodtrction; tlaey shotrld be differentfroraa tl'uose trsed irt tl'xe XAFS ataalyses. The radial dipole integral shotmld be replaced by thecorresponding uuuouaopole radial integral in the BXBFS analyses.
