Bond-operator naean field equations for the sqtrare-lattice, S l: l /2 bilayer Heisenberg modelare developed and solved ntr?taerically. In the vicinity of' both the zero-field critical point andthe field-induced transitions, comparisons are unade with T : 0 and finite-tenaperattrre strongcoupling expansions. Tlae tne?rn-field theory strggests that the qtranttrtn critical region for thefield-indtrced transitiotts is restricted to significatnatl3' lower tetnperattrres th?rn one raaight laaveconcltrded based on strong-coujcliuag expansions or other ntruaaerical sttrdies.
