Chapter VII Hartree-Fock Calculations of Nuclear Bulk Properties with Density- and Starting-Energy-Dependent Effective Interaction

• Hartree-Fock calculations are carried out for bulk properties of light nuclei ^<16>O, ^<40>Ca, ^<48>Ca, ^<12>Be and ^<22>O using the density- and starting-energy-dependent effective interaction. The interaction is constructed on the basis of the reaction matrix in nuclear matter and the k_<F^-> and ω-dependences of the reaction matrix are parameterized in a separate manner. The Hartree-Fock single-particle equation is defined by the variation of Brueckner's lowest-order energy expression. Both rearrangement effects coming from the k_<F^-> and ω-dependences of the effective interaction are included. In this method a good description of finite nuclei is obtained as in the standard density-dependent Hartree-Fock calculations. The shell model matrix elements of this k_<F^-> and ω-dependent effective interaction are also discussed.
