I have been researching in Jiyuga Education in Akita Prefecture through materials of those days, for example, many drawing works by the students of the former Yuzawa higher elementary school. This thesis deals with the drawing education before the appearance of Jiyuga Education on the basis of my preceding researches. It has been definitely shown by this research that teachers and schools have a different understanding about the meaning of educational-drawing (Kyoikuteki-zuga) and "Shinteigacho". They also had a different sense of value to "Ringa". The factor that made a big difference was inherent in the drawing education system in Akita prefecture, because schools and teachers had different understandings and attitudes to Jiyuga education.
