PD12 Influence of Insulator Thickness and Aperture Diameter on the Properties of the Liquid Crystal Lens with an Intermediate Insulator Layer

Liquid crystal lenses of aperture diameter of 0.6 〜 6.0 mm and insulator thickness of 100 〜 400 μm are examined. It is found that in a large range of the insulator thickness and aperture diameter combination lens effect can be obtained, but in most cases, a ratio of about 7.0 〜 7.5 of the diameter and the thickness leads to the largest numerical aperture.
