The relation between the full amplitude and the one-particle irreducible amplitude is investigated when there are an elementary particle and some composite particles in the same channel. While the zeros of the propagator are independent of the coupling constant of the elementary particle, the composite poles depend on it and coincide with the propagator zeros in the limit of the vanishing of the coupling constant. Critical values of the coupling constant, corresponding to the appearances of a ghost pole or a bound-state pole, are obtained. It is impossible to distinguish an elementary particle from composite particles, when they co-exist in the same channel.
